My husband and I like to try new foods and found this fish (benito) powder in a tiny Korean grocery store in Dayton, Ohio. We just kept experimenting until we came up with this. (Ignore the smell, it really is delish!)

How to Make Kim Chee Soup


  1. Dissolve fish bouillon into one quart of water while heating.
  2. Cut tofu into 1/2 to 3/4 inch cubes.
  3. Add kim chee and bring to boil. (In a quart, I would put a couple of cups of kim chee.) Simmer and serve whenever you are ready.
  4. You can substitute another bouillon or you can use broth.

    You can make large quantities of this and simmer and sip all day.

    You can also make this in a crock pot, of course.
