Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh or smoked kielbasa
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 4 cups shredded cabbage
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 3 cups peeled and chopped potatoes
- - salt and pepper, to taste
- - chopped fresh dill - optional garnish
How To Make polish sausage (kielbasa) soup

Step 1Melt butter in a large skillet, add onions, celery and sausage, cook over medium heat until sausage is lightly browned

Step 2Pour into a soup pot and add remaining ingredients except for potatoes

Step 3Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour

Step 4Add potatoes and cook until tender

Step 5Season with salt and pepper and add dill if desired
