This is a hearty, spicy chili,perfect for winter nights. Cornmeal Cheddar biscuits are a great combination.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground chuck
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1- 15 oz cans kidney beans
  • 1 large can pinto beans
  • 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 can tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can chili ready diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3-4 tablespoons steak sauce (i used an a-1 type)
  • - seasoned salt (to taste)
  • - ground red pepper (to taste)
  • 2 packages chili seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • - hot sauce to your liking!

How To Make lori's calico chili

  • Step 1
    Brown meat with onions, pepper, and celery. Drain. I put it in a dutch oven at this point.
  • Step 2
    Add all other ingredients. Allow to simmer until the flavors marry. About 30 minutes-1 hour.
