This yummy sounding chili actually comes from Paula Deen. I tried to pinch it the usual way, but a completely different recipe keeps appearing, so I've copied here manually. Here is the original site for this recipe:

    ground beef
  • 2
    onions, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    plus 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    ground cumin
  • 2 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 clove
  • 2
    jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
  • 2 can(s)
    15 oz each, ranch-style beans, undrained
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 2 can(s)
    15 oz each, black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can(s)
    15 oz, diced tomatoes
  • 4 c
    tomato sauce
  • 2 c
    beef broth
  • ·
    optional garnishes: sour cram, shredded cheese, minced chives

How to Make Chocolate Chili


  1. In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Next, add the onions, chili powder and cumin, and stir together.
  3. Add the cocoa, garlic and jalapenos, mix together and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Next, add in the ranch-style beans, cayenne pepper and oregano, and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and broth, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

    Garnish with sour cream, shredded cheese and chives if desired.
