This yummy sounding chili actually comes from Paula Deen. I tried to pinch it the usual way, but a completely different recipe keeps appearing, so I've copied here manually. Here is the original site for this recipe:

ground beef
onions, chopped
1 Tbsp
plus 2 teaspoons chili powder
1 Tbsp
ground cumin
2 Tbsp
unsweetened cocoa powder
3 clove
jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
2 can(s)
15 oz each, ranch-style beans, undrained
1 tsp
cayenne pepper
1 tsp
dried oregano
2 can(s)
15 oz each, black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can(s)
15 oz, diced tomatoes
4 c
tomato sauce
2 c
beef broth
optional garnishes: sour cram, shredded cheese, minced chives

How to Make Chocolate Chili


  • 1In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 2Next, add the onions, chili powder and cumin, and stir together.
  • 3Add the cocoa, garlic and jalapenos, mix together and cook for 2 minutes.
  • 4Next, add in the ranch-style beans, cayenne pepper and oregano, and cook for another minute.
  • 5Add the black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and broth, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

    Garnish with sour cream, shredded cheese and chives if desired.
