- 1 package split peas
- 6 cups water
- 1/2 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 small green pepper, chopped
- 2 - garlic cloves, chopped
- 2-3 - pieces of smoked turkey, pref with bone
- 1 cup pumpkin, cubed
- - salt/pepper
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 pinch cumin
How To Make simplified split pea soup

Step 1Place everything in a large pot.

Step 2Bring to a boil.

Step 3cover and simmer on low for 45-60 mins, stirring often, as for it not to stick at the bottom.

Step 4It will thicken...you can add more water if you like it soupier...and that's it....delicious
