canned crushed tomatos
46 oz
tomato juice
14 1/2 oz
chicken broth
1 c
half and half
1 stick
real butter
20 small
fresh basil leaves

How to Make TOMATO BASIL SOUP

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large sauce pan, combine crushed tomatoes and tomato juice and chicken broth.
  • 2Bring to boil and cook 30 minutes.
  • 3Remove from heat and stir in basil (cut in small strips).
  • 4Add half and half and butter. Return to medium heat adding garlic powder, salt, black pepper, red pepper, and sugar to taste.
  • 5OPTIONAL - Add shredded Italian cheese on top of each serving.
