  • 1 1/2 pounds bulk pork sausage
  • 3 pounds red potatoes, peeled an sliced
  • 31/2 cans chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup chopped sweet onion
  • 2 - cloves garlic minced
  • - pinch salt an pepper
  • 3 cups chopped swiss chard
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 8 - bacon strips cooked an crumbled

How To Make sausage an potato soup

  • Step 1
    in skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. drain;set aside
  • Step 2
    using a dutch oven, combine the potatoes, broth, water, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, uncovered for 20 min or until potatoes are done.
  • Step 3
    Stir in the swiss chard, cream, bacon and sausage. Bring to boil. reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for about 10 min or until chard is tender. serve
