Ingredients

  • PUERT RICAN , PIGEON PEAS STEW W/SMOKE HAM AND RICE
  • 1 pound smoke ham
  • 1/2 pound beef sausage
  • 1 can tomato sauce 8oz.
  • 1/4 cup pimento olives
  • 2 cans green pigeon peas
  • 1 can sweet bell peppers 8oz
  • 3/4 cup uncook long grain rice
  • 2 tablespoons annato red coloring
  • 1 package sazon w/ culantro and achiote
  • 2 - boulin cubes
  • 1 package ham seasoning
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 pound potato
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • medium onion chopped
  • 1 small green pepperchopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 sprigs of cilantro chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons adobo goya powder seasoning
  • 3 - carrots cut up in slices
  • 3 sticks of celery cut in pieces

How To Make puerto rican pigeon peas stew w/ smoke ham and rice

  • Step 1
    in a large pot about 5 quarts fill with water let it come to a boil in an mediun bowl put rice w/ water to soak, meanwhile chop onion ,pepper ad mince galic and chopped cilantro, put in pot ,peel and cut potatos in small pieces ,put ham and beef sausage in pot, add tomato sauce and annato red coloring add chicken cubes and ham seasoning also sazon and adobo goya powder seasoning. cover boil for 15 minutes then add pigeon peas and drain rice taste to see if is of your taste also add carrots and celery, boil until rice is cook and add oil and boil a little more. seve hot , and 1 or 2 pieces of italian bread. bon appettite
