Ingredients
- 2 quarts tomato juice
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter or margine
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make mom's homemade tomato soup

Step 1melt your butter in a 5 quart pan on medium heat.

Step 2Add your 2 quarts of tomato juice to melted butter. I use homemade tomato juice.

Step 3Then add your milk one cup at a time.

Step 4When the soup has heated to almost a boil take off of stove and slowly add your baking soda. Add it 1/2 teaspoon at a time. Taste and if needed add your other 1/2 teaspoon. Add your salt and pepper to your liking. Serve with saltine crackers.
