1melt your butter in a 5 quart pan on medium heat.
2Add your 2 quarts of tomato juice to melted butter. I use homemade tomato juice.
3Then add your milk one cup at a time.
4When the soup has heated to almost a boil take off of stove and slowly add your baking soda. Add it 1/2 teaspoon at a time. Taste and if needed add your other 1/2 teaspoon. Add your salt and pepper to your liking. Serve with saltine crackers.
