Ingredients
- - 1 lb ground italian sausage (mild
- - 1 lg onion chopped
- - 2 stalks celery chopped
- - 2 med carrots chopped
- - 8 cups chicken broth
- - 1-(14oz) can diced tomatoes
- - 1-(29oz) can tomato sauce
- - 1 clove garlic crushed
- 1 tablespoon orengano
- 1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 tablespoon basil
- 1/2 tablespoon thyme
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup orzo (rice shaped pasta

Step 1In stock pot cook sausage, carrots, onion and celery until sausage is cooked. Drain fat. Add all other ingredients except pasta. Cover and simmer 1 hour. After an hour add orzo and return to boiling reduce heat and simmer 1 hour,uncovered, stirring frequently. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese and crusty bread.
