Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon black pepper, ground
- 1 tablespoon cardamom, ground
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon cloves, ground -- only a teaspoon
- 1 tablespoon coriander,
- 1 tablespoon cumin, ground
- 1 tablespoon fennel seeds, ground
- 1 tablespoon ginger, ground
- 1 tablespoon nutmeg, ground
How To Make garam masala (indian spice mix)

Step 1Mix all spices together in a small bowl Transfer to an airtight bottle/container for storage Store in a cool dark place Use in curries, dal, chickpea/choly dishes...any Indian recipe that calls for Garam Masala

Step 2If you don't have ground spices, you can put everything into a coffee grinder or break everything down with a mortar and pestal.

Step 3REMINDER...if you use a coffee grinder, don't use the one you grind your coffee with as you will not want to use it to grind coffee again; unless you like Garam Masala flavored coffee.
