4 cbermuda onions sliced thin
5 cbeef consomme
5 cchicken bouillon
1 tspseasoned salt
1 1/2 lbgrated swiss and gruyere cheese
12 slicefrench bread (cut thin and toasted under the broiler)
How to Make FABULOUS FRENCH ONION SOUP
- Melt the butter and brown the onions on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Stir in beef and chicken stock.
Cook on low for 20 minutes.
- Put 2 slices of prepared toast in each individual bowl.
Fill bowls half way with liquid.
Keep adding liquid gradually to the bowls. Fill almost to the top.
- Sprinkle cheese on top (about a half cup per bowl )
Press the cheese all around the edges of each bowl so will form a crust when it melts.
- Place the bowls on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400' for 25 minutes.
