this recipe was made with the canned deer meat into a beef stew, that was then canned and was shipped all the way to IRAQ, was sent to my brother-in-law that was stationed over there at the time, he said he loved being able to come in after a long day, and just be able to have it ready made.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds stew meat deer or beef
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 3 medium onions
  • 5 sticks celery stalks
  • 1 can lg. crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, whole
  • 2 tablespoons garlic
  • 3 - carrots
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 4 to 5 - potatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1 package beef stew mix
  • 3 cans beef broth

  • Step 1
    clean and chop vegetables, brown meat in olive oil, add onions and celery, cook until tender. in lg kettle, add remaining ingredients (except flour) cook until potatoes, carrots are tender, slowly add flour, cook until thickened on simmer, stir often. very good, enjoy.
