alphabet soup
I obtained the base recipe from the internet and modified it to taste. This soup never lasts very long so double the recipe for more people. The doubled recipe will easily fit into an 8 quart soup pot.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground italian sausage, mild
- 6 cups chicken or beef stock
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon basil, dried
- 1 tablespoon oregano, dried
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, pureed
- 1 can 15 oz great northern beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup alphabet pasta, uncooked
How To Make alphabet soup

Step 1In a soup pot, on medium heat, cook and drain Italian Sausage, then return to pot.

Step 2Add onions and carrots, saute for 5 minutes, add garlic and saute for 1 minute longer. Add Tomato Paste and saute for 1 minute. Add Tomato puree and cook 2 minutes.

Step 3Add all other ingredients, except pasta. Bring to boil, lower heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add pasta and cook 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
