My niece, who loves to cook and find new recipes, gave me this one, promised me it was to-die-for, and so here it is!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 16 ounces velveeta cheese

How To Make panera broccoli soup with a twist

  • Step 1
    Place the first 8 ingredients into crock pot or slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, add 1 cup chicken broth to 1/4 cup cornstarch and mix until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Add cornstarch mixture to ingredients in slow cooker and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Set slow cooker to HIGH setting and cover.
  • Step 5
    Cook for 4 hours.
  • Step 6
    To mixture in slow cooker, add 1 cup heavy cream and 16 oz. Velveeta cheese, cut into cubes. Stir well
  • Step 7
    Cover slow cooker and continue cooking on HIGH for 20 more minutes, or until cheese is completely melted.
  • Panera broccoli soup cooking in a slow cooker.
    Step 8
    Ladle into soup bowls and serve.
