Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons flour
- pinch salt and pepper
How To Make mimi's tomato soup

Step 1clean, core and dice whole tomatoes, mash with potato masher, sprinkle with baking soda, cook on low until tomatoes are soft app. 10 min.Press tomatoes through a sieve.

Step 2make a roux with flour and milk. wisk until smooth. Add slowly to the tomatoes. cook over low heat until it begins to thicken.Be careful, and stir often so it doesn't scorch.

Step 3add butter and season with salt & pepper to taste, toward the end of cooking.
