My Potato and Ham soup is Great for a Blustery cold day in the Winter months! Hope you enjoy it, as much as Family and Friends do!

Ingredients

  • large 4 large russet potato's sliced in chunks
  • cup 2 cups beef broth low sodium
  • medium 2 medium onions chopped
  • stick 2 stalks of celery
  • large 3 carrots chopped
  • cup 1/2 cup parsley
  • tablespoon 3 tablespoons butter
  • cup 3 cups milk
  • teaspoon 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • tablespoon 3 tbs. flour
  • cup 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • cup 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese
  • cup 2 cups cubed ham / plus ham bone
  • tablespoon 1 tbs. chopped garlic from jar
  • package 1/2 package of smoked bacon, drained and crumbled

How To Make grammy barb's potato ham soup

  • Step 1
    In a Large pan, place Ham bone, and potato's in broth.
  • Step 2
    Add onions, carrots, celery, parsley, garlic, chucks of Ham, and cooked smoked bacon.
  • Step 3
    Cook for 30 min.
  • Step 4
    When almost done, in a fry pan. Melt Butter, add flour, and milk gradually and stir until thickened Then add cheeses and stir again.
  • Step 5
    Add this to Broth, and stir until blended. Add Red pepper flakes and Black pepper.
