Ingredients
- 1 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup carrots, finely chopped
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups half and half
- 2 cups diced, cooked turkey (or chicken)
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (6 ounces).....use freshly shredded not pre-packaged shredded cheese so it melts)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 dash ground red pepper
How To Make turkey cheese chowder

Step 1Saute the green onions, carrots, and celery in the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until tender. Reduce the heat to low; add the flour, stirring well. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add the chicken broth and half and half; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly.

Step 2Reduce the heat to low. Add the turkey or chicken and the remaining ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, just until the cheese melts and all ingredients are heated.
