This recipe came from Irene Huste, a friend of the family. There are alot of her recipes found in our old recipe box.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups corn
  • 1 1/2 cups pototoes cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup half & half
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped

How To Make corn chowder

  • Step 1
    Saute onion and celery in butter; stir in corn, potatoes,water, salt, pepper,and thyme. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add milk and half & half, cook another 5-10 minutes stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
    Can top with bacon bits and cheese.
