Jarred salsa adds some zing to this easy chili recipe. Can also be done in a slow cooker. Brown meat and onions and then add everything to the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey (can use ground beef)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups salsa, chunky (jarred type)
- 2 cans (14.5 oz. each) tomato sauce
- 1 can (4.5 oz) chopped green chilis
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 cans (15 oz. each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Step 1In a large dutch oven, heat oil and cook ground turkey and onion over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring to break up turkey.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and cook on medium-low, covered, for 4 hours. Stir occasionally.

Step 3Serve topped with grated cheddar and diced onions, if desired.
