This is a thick chili with a lot of beans. You can put less beans in and it comes out fine.

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 2 clove
  • 2 can(s)
    (16oz ea) dark red kidney beans..rinse &drain
  • 2 can(s)
    (16oz ea)light red kidney beans.rinse & drain
  • 2 can(s)
    (14.5oz)chili ready tomatoes
  • 1 can(s)
    (15oz)pizza sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    (4oz)chopped green chilies
  • 4 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt (i omit)
  • 1/8 tsp

How to Make Lynda's Favorite Slow Cooked Chili


  1. Cook first 3 ingredients until the meat is no longer pink.(Drain)
  2. Put in a 5 quart slow cooker,stir in remaining ingredients.
  3. cover and cook on low 6 hours.
