This is a thick chili with a lot of beans. You can put less beans in and it comes out fine.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic..minced
  • 2 cans (16oz ea) dark red kidney beans..rinse &drain
  • 2 cans (16oz ea)light red kidney beans.rinse & drain
  • 2 cans (14.5oz)chili ready tomatoes
  • 1 can (15oz)pizza sauce
  • 1 can (4oz)chopped green chilies
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (i omit)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How To Make lynda's favorite slow cooked chili

  • Step 1
    Cook first 3 ingredients until the meat is no longer pink.(Drain)
  • Step 2
    Put in a 5 quart slow cooker,stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Step 3
    cover and cook on low 6 hours.
