I'VE BEEN USING THIS RECIPE FOR YEARS. EVERYONE LOVES IT AND SWEARS IT'S THE BEST CHILI EVER.

Ingredients

  • 1 LB - ground beef
  • 1 can 14.5 tomato sauce
  • 1 can 14.5 dark kidney beans
  • 1 can 14.5 light kidney beans
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 can 4 oz. diced green chilies
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 1 can 14.5 petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or to your taste
  • 1 cup water more depending on your desired thickness

How To Make kay's chili

  • Step 1
    brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain off the fat. Using a fork crumble the beef into small pieces
  • Step 2
    in a large slow cooker combine the beef and the remaining ingredients. Bring to boil over high. Turn heat to low and simmer for 2 hours stirring every 10 to 15 minutes to prevent sticking.
  • Step 3
    Serve with crackers or corn bread and enjoy.
