My daughter loves my chili so much she wanted it for her birthday dinner... in late June.

Ingredients

  • 15 ounces kidney beans, light red, canned
  • 15 ounces kidney beans, dark red,, canned
  • 15 ounces black beans, canned
  • 15 ounces pinto beans, canned
  • 15 ounces great northern beans, canned
  • - olive oil
  • 2 - italian sausage links, turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 4-5 - baby portebello mushrooms
  • 1/2 large green bell pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup cooking wine, red
  • 1 can spaghetti sauce (del-monte or hunt's)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 4 1/4 ounces black olives, canned, sliced
  • 1 package chili seasoning (your heat preference)

How To Make five bean chili

  • Step 1
    Rinse all beans in a strainer and set aside
  • Step 2
    Dice onion and bell pepper and set aside
  • Step 3
    Halve and slice mushrooms and set aside
  • Step 4
    Heat a small amount of olive oil in a large over medium-high heat
  • Step 5
    Remove sausage from casing and add to pot
  • Step 6
    Crumble and cook over medium-high heat for a few minutes then add the mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion
  • Step 7
    Continue to cook over medium- high heat until sausage is done and vegetables are tender
  • Step 8
    Pour broth and wine in pot scraping any bits off the bottom of the pot
  • Step 9
    Add the beans and remaining four ingredients to the pot mixing well
  • Step 10
    Reduce heat and simmer chili for 30mins stirring occasionally
