Ingredients For chicken rice soup

32 ozchicken broth, low salt

2 cwater
-
1/2 cuncooked , long grain wild rice (not instant)

1 bunchgreen onions, chopped with green tops

1/2 cbutter
-
3/4 cplain flour
-
1/2 tspparsley flakes
-
1 tspblack pepper
-
2 cwhole milk
-
2 ccooked chicken, chopped

1/2 lbcooked, drained, crumbled bacon
How To Make chicken rice soup

1Combine broth,water, rice, and onions in large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook for 35-40 mins.

2In medium pan, melt butter, whisk in flour,parsley and pepper. Cook 1 minute stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly. Gradually add milk, cook until slightly thick, while stirring.

3Add milk mixture to broth mixture, slowly. Add chicken, and bacon. Heat on low, at least 30 mins more. At this time add salt to taste.
