ground beef
1 1/2 tsp
caraway seeds
1 tsp
thyme, dried
2 1/2 c
chopped bell pepper and onions
1 medium
apple, diced with skins on
6 c
beef broth
1 can(s)
crushed tomatoes
1 1/2 Tbsp
1 Tbsp
3 c
cabbage, chopped
1 Tbsp
cider vinegar
1/4 tsp
pepper, to taste

How to Make Sweet and Sour Beef Cabbage Soup


  • 1Heat oil on Med-High in a lg stock pot.
  • 2Brown ground beef with caraway seeds and thyme.
  • 3Stir in bell peppers, onions and apples cooking for 2-3 min.
  • 4Add broth, tomatoes, sugar and paprika. Simmer for 10 min.
  • 5Add cabbage and cook for 3-4 min.
  • 6Turn off the heat and add the vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • 7Serve with a good crusty bread.
