Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
- 2 1/2 cups chopped bell pepper and onions
- 1 medium apple, diced with skins on
- 6 cups beef broth
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 3 cups cabbage, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- - pepper, to taste

Step 1Heat oil on Med-High in a lg stock pot.

Step 2Brown ground beef with caraway seeds and thyme.

Step 3Stir in bell peppers, onions and apples cooking for 2-3 min.

Step 4Add broth, tomatoes, sugar and paprika. Simmer for 10 min.

Step 5Add cabbage and cook for 3-4 min.

Step 6Turn off the heat and add the vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 7Serve with a good crusty bread.
