Sometimes when we make really large steaks we always have some left over. I put the bones and the leftover meat in freezer bags and freeze them until I collect enough for a nice stock for the soup. This is truely made for leftovers, you can put just about any combo of veggies you like.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 large meaty steak bones, usually i use porterhouse
  • 6 ounces steak, more if you have it
  • 32 ounces container beef stock
  • 2 teaspoons beef base
  • 2 medium potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup each diced carrots, green beans, corn, limas.
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dry parsley
  • 2 medium bay leves

How To Make steak soup

  • Step 1
    Put a disposable liner in your slow cooker. You can find these in the zip lock bag department in most grocery stores.
  • Step 2
    Dice the potatoes, onion, carrots. Cut the green beans into 1 inch pieces.
  • Step 3
    Put the beef bones, steak, and the veggies into the slow cooker, add everything else
  • Step 4
    Set slow cooker to low and cook for at least 6 hours.
