Sometimes when we make really large steaks we always have some left over. I put the bones and the leftover meat in freezer bags and freeze them until I collect enough for a nice stock for the soup.
This is truely made for leftovers, you can put just about any combo of veggies you like.

  • 3 to 4 large
    meaty steak bones, usually i use porterhouse
  • 6 oz
    steak, more if you have it
  • 32 oz
    container beef stock
  • 2 tsp
    beef base
  • 2 medium
  • 1 large
  • 1 c
    each diced carrots, green beans, corn, limas.
  • 1 c
    frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 clove
  • 1/2 tsp
    each salt and pepper or to taste
  • 1 tsp
    dry parsley
  • 2 medium
    bay leves

How to Make Steak Soup


  1. Put a disposable liner in your slow cooker. You can find these in the zip lock bag department in most grocery stores.
  2. Dice the potatoes, onion, carrots.
    Cut the green beans into 1 inch pieces.
  3. Put the beef bones, steak, and the veggies into the slow cooker, add everything else
  4. Set slow cooker to low and cook for at least 6 hours.
