A family favorite for many years. I grew up on this soup. We would come home from a rainy day @ school and have this and Sour dough French bread for dinner with a lovely salad.

Ingredients
- 3 large large beef shanks large and meaty
- - water to cover
- 1 - onion chopped
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 2 large potatoes cut in 1/4's
- 1 bunch mustard greens, torn.
- 8 ounces can tomato sauce
- 1 - handfull elbow macaroni
How To Make portuguese soup

Step 1Bring to boil and simmer covered, several hours, until meat very tender Add 2 large Potatoes cut in 1/4's 1 bunch mustard greens, torn. 1 8 0z can tomato sauce 1 handful elbow macaroni Continue on low heat until potatoes soft- the longer the better- best the next day (Refrigerate overnight) Serve in soup bowl with green pepper vinegar
