A family favorite for many years. I grew up on this soup. We would come home from a rainy day @ school and have this and Sour dough French bread for dinner with a lovely salad.

Ingredients For portuguese soup

3 lglarge beef shanks large and meaty

water to cover

1onion chopped

salt and pepper to taste

2 lgpotatoes cut in 1/4's

1 bunchmustard greens, torn.

8 ozcan tomato sauce

1handfull elbow macaroni
How To Make portuguese soup

1Bring to boil and simmer covered, several hours, until meat very tender Add 2 large Potatoes cut in 1/4's 1 bunch mustard greens, torn. 1 8 0z can tomato sauce 1 handful elbow macaroni Continue on low heat until potatoes soft- the longer the better- best the next day (Refrigerate overnight) Serve in soup bowl with green pepper vinegar
