A friend gave this recipe to me which had little smokies PLUS the hamburger meat. It was too much. Here is my "tweaked" recipe. I also hit a homerun with the meat mixture!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger meat
  • 1 pound italian sausage, no casings
  • 1 pound italian sausage, hot, no casings
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1 cup red bell pepper
  • 3 cloves mashed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 3 - cans of campbells soup- minestrone soup
  • 1 - can of rotel
  • 1 box chicken stock
  • - parsley
  • - basil

How To Make minestrone soup plus

  • Step 1
    Brown meats along with onions, garlic, celery, bell pepper and garlic. Drain well. IMPORTANT: Save half for later recipes! Makes a great meat blend for spaghetti sauce.
  • Step 2
    In large soup pot, add meat, 3 cans soup, Rotel, 1 carton chicken broth, parsley and basil (dried).
  • Step 3
    Bring to a boil then lower heat to simmmer. Good with cornbread. Tastes like you have been cooking all afternoon!
