Easy French Onion Soup

Ingredients

3 boxlow sodium beef stock

7 lbwhite onions

4 clovegarlic-minced

3beef bullion cubes
-
4 Tbspunsalted butter
-
1 cchardonnay
-
1/2 bunchitialian flat leaf parsley-chopped

1 tspthyme-dried
-
4bay leaves
-
1 tsporegano, dried
-
1 tspbasil, dried
-
1 lbprovolone cheese
-
·salt and pepper to taste
-
IF YOU HAVE THE TIME FOR EXTRA RICHNESS
-
4 lbveal or beef bones-roasted for 1 hour
How to Make Easy French Onion Soup
- Saute onions and garlic in butter until transparent
- Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer for at least 1 hour. Longer is better
- If using the roasted bones add now also
- I serve with a slice of provolone on bottom of bowl, a slice of sourdough baguette, soup, the another slice of provolone on top. I do not bake mine but you can if you choose.
