My friend Tammy let me try this at work one day. It was low-cal, inexpensive, and easy to make. Loved it! Since she got the recipe from another co-worker of ours, and I changed a few things, I'm not giving the credit to anyone, but sharing it w everyone!!!

Ingredients

  • 4-5 medium potatoes
  • 1 - head cabbage
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 6 - mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 - carrots, grated
  • 2 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon basil
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 package pre cooked turkey sausage
  • - just enough water to cover ingred., or use chicken broth

How To Make cabbage soup

  • Step 1
    Peel potatoes, wash and chop. Core cabbage, chop. add potatoes and cabbage to pot first, then add rest of ingredients...cover w lid, simmer til ingred are tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    This is an easy to add whatever u like. Easy subs are mushrooms, celery, red potatoes, green onions, diff sausage, etc.
