This is a yummy recipe I got off the back of a box of Hamburger Helper years ago - even my son who hates green beans loves it!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 package hamburger helper lasagna mix
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package (10 oz) italian or cut green beans

How To Make beefy mediterranean soup

  • Step 1
    Cook and stir ground beef and onion in Dutch oven until beef is brown; drain.
  • Step 2
    Stir in Sauce Mix, water, carrots, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat.
  • Step 3
    Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes; stir in noodles and green beans.
  • Step 4
    Cover and cook 10 minutes longer. Serve with grated parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Step 5
    HIGH ALTITUDE DIRECTIONS: Stir in macaroni and green beans with the carrots. Continue as directed EXCEPT - cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
