Ingredients
- 1/2 pound dried white lima beans
- 1 - ham hock
- - water
- 7 ounces canned tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup carrot, chopped
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or vermouth
- 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, cracked
- 1 pinch allspice, ground
- 1 pinch nutmeg, ground
- 1/8 teaspoon cloves, ground
How To Make white beans & ham crockpot

Step 1Soak beans in water overnight.

Step 2Drain beans. Place them in a 2 quart Crockpot. Add the ham hock and fill to the top with water. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for four hours.

Step 3Remove the ham hock. Cut the meat off the bone and discard the rest. Return the meat to the pot.

Step 4Add the rest of the ingredients and cook on high for four hours.
