There's an old country song "All I want is a bowl of butter beans" so when my Neice Janet gave me this recipe that's what I called it.
When I make this again I will add a pict.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    hamburger
  • 1/2 lb
    bacon
  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 19 3/4 oz
    (2 cans) pork and beans
  • 15 1/2 oz
    kidney beans rinsed and drained
  • 16 oz
    butter beans , rinsed and drained
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 3 oz
    tomato paste
  • 10 1/2 oz
    beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 Tbsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
    white vinegar

How to Make All I Want is a Bowl of Butter Beans Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Spray a teflon sauce pan with non stick spray, cut up the bacon and saute until crisp, add the onions and saute til translucent, add the hamburg and continue to cook til no longer pink.
  2. Stir in everthing else and bring to a simmer at least 1/2 hour.
