chai spiced granola
This is a great addition to yogurt or can be eaten with milk as a cereal, but frankly, it's best just tossed in your mouth by the handful. Use your favorite nuts and switch it up each time - hazelnuts, pecans, almonds - and change out the seeds to your liking and include sesame, sunflower or flax seeds. Lightly spiced, lots of crunch, good source of fiber.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup chai tea (see below)
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup rice krispie cereal
- 1 1/2 cups chopped almonds
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/8 cup flax seeds
- 1/8 cup chia seeds
- 1/3 cup coconut oil
- 2 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
How To Make chai spiced granola

Step 1Preheat oven to 275 degrees F.

Step 2Heat 3/4 cup of water to boiling and steep one chai tea bag for about 5 minutes. Squeeze out the tea bag. Add to a small saucepan with brown sugar. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool about 10 minutes.

Step 3Combine oats, cereal, nuts and seeds in a large bowl and mix.

Step 4After the sugar is cooled, add the coconut oil and vanilla. Stir well to mix.

Step 5Pour the sugar mixture over the oats and nuts. Mix well.

Step 6Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Spread oat mixture evenly on the sheet. Bake for 70 minutes. Turn oats over, keeping in large chunks, and return to oven for an additional 30 minutes. Turn the granola again, making sure the sugar coating looks dry - continue baking for 5 minute intervals if necessary.

Step 7Cool completely before breaking into bite sized pieces. Store in a resealable container.
