Wow, this is another really different recipe choice for St. Pat's Day. I really look forward to trying this recipe, as I love popcorn! This would even be a great treat to give everyone on St. Pat's Day to take home after the dinner. I found this recipe on Taste of Home. com. Enjoy.

Ingredients

  • KEEP WARM IN OVEN AT 250 DEGREES
  • 4 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, halved
  • COOK
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ADD AT THE END
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 8 - 10 - drops green food coloring
  • - salt, if desired

How To Make st. patrick's day popcorn

  • Step 1
    Place popcorn in a large roasting pan; keep warm in a 250° oven. Meanwhile, in a large heavy saucepan, combine the sugars, water, corn syrup, vinegar and salt. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until a candy thermometer reads 260° (hard-ball stage).
  • Step 2
    Remove from the heat; stir in butter until melted. Stir in food coloring. Drizzle over warm popcorn and toss to coat. Cool. Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
  • Step 3
    Prep time is 15 minutes plus cooling time
