Ingredients For oatmeal cookies

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    cream (or half and half)
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    double acting baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    uncooked rolled oats
  • 3/4 c
    chocolate chips (optional)

How To Make oatmeal cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter with sugars. Add egg, vanilla and cream.

    Sift together and add to the above ingredients the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. When beaten smooth, add oats and chocolate chips (if desired). Beat the mixture well.

    Drop cookies 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet coated with parchment paper and bake 10-12 minutes or until light brown in a 350 degree oven.
