All my Children, even the ones who don't like raisins, I sometimes make a version that leaves out the raisins.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    white flower
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 2 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 c
    raisins

How to Make Moms Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In mixing bowl beat shortening and butter until soft. Add about 1/2 of flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, eggs, baking soda and vanilla to the shortening mixture. Beat until combined, add
    other dry ingredients also add oats and raisins. Place tablespoon full of mixture on cookie tray. bake at 375 degrees 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
