Ingredients

  • 10 c
    steel cut rolled oats (do not use quick or instant)
  • 1 c
    wheat germ
  • 1/2 lb
    shredded coconut
  • 2 c
    raw sunflower seeds
  • 1 c
    sesame seeds
  • 3 c
    chopped nuts (any kind)
  • 1 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    apple juice
  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable oil or canola oil
  • 1/2 c
    honey
  • 1/2 c
    blackstrap molasses
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 3 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • ·
    dried fruit (your choice)

How to Make HOME MADE GRANOLA

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees (F). Combine dry ingredients (except fruit) in a large bowl.
  2. In a large saucepan combine brown sugar, vanilla, honey, molasses, and apple juice. Heat, do not boil, until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir into dry ingredients until well coated
  4. onto baking pan or cookie sheet (in batches). Bake 20-30 minutes; stirring occasionally to prevent burning
  5. Allow to cool. Mix in the dried fruit. Place in large container.
