  • 1 cup rolled oats (5 minute or old fashioned)
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup nugget cereal(i use bear naked) or grape nuts
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup nuts, chopped (whatever is on hand, i like almonds)
  • 7 ounces dried mixed fruit
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/4 cup applesauce, no sugar added
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil, canola or vegetable

How To Make granola bars

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 325, and line a 9 inch baking dish with foil, spray with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
In a large bowl, add first 7 ingredients and mix. In a smaller bowl or glass measuring dish mix the next 5 ingredients and add to your dry mixture.
  • Step 3
Pour into baking dish and press. Bake in oven for 30 minutes, top will be brown. Variations: omit oil, and add more applesauce; use peanuts, peanut butter and chocolate chips; use only one dried fruit of your liking or any varity of nuts. I like that these are not to sweet some may prefer to add more sugar. Do what your family likes.
