How to Make Roasting Chestnuts
- Set your oven for 425'F.
Make a slice along the round mounded edge of each chestnut. Make sure you cut right through the shell.
- Put them in a saucepan and cover with water.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Remove from the pot and put into a heat proof dish.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Put in a towel and leave for 15 minutes so the steam can help soften the chestnuts.
