These are so good that you won't be able to stop eating them. So very easy to make. You could use a different kind of nut,but then they wouldn't be called "Iced Almonds" HA HA This recipe was another of my Mom's recipes.Never a Christmas without them. Brings back great memories with the family.

Ingredients For mom's iced almonds

  • 1 c
    whole blanched almonds
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter or margarine (not lite)
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt

How To Make mom's iced almonds

  • 1
    In a heavy skillet,combine 1st 3 ingredients. Heat and stir over medium heat,until almonds are toasted and the sugar is a golden brown syrup.(about 15 min.)Stir in vanilla.

    Spread almonds on foil; sprinkle with salt. Cool. Break into 2-3 nut clusters.

    Store in a airtight container in a cool dry place.
