mom's iced almonds

These are so good that you won't be able to stop eating them. So very easy to make. You could use a different kind of nut,but then they wouldn't be called "Iced Almonds" HA HA This recipe was another of my Mom's recipes.Never a Christmas without them. Brings back great memories with the family.

Ingredients
- 1 cup whole blanched almonds
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine (not lite)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make mom's iced almonds

Step 1In a heavy skillet,combine 1st 3 ingredients. Heat and stir over medium heat,until almonds are toasted and the sugar is a golden brown syrup.(about 15 min.)Stir in vanilla.

Step 2Spread almonds on foil; sprinkle with salt. Cool. Break into 2-3 nut clusters.

Step 3Store in a airtight container in a cool dry place.
