  • 1 1/4 c
    flour, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    confectionary sugar
  • 1/2 c
    margarine
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2/3 c
    dates, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    nuts, chopped

How to Make Mom's Frosted Date Balls

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift the flour twice. Add salt. Cream the butter and gradually add sugar. Add milk and vanilla. Sift in flour. Blend in dates and nuts. Roll into 1 inch balls.
  2. Place about 3 inches apart on undressed cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees F. for 20 minutes or until lightly brown. While still warm, roll in confectionary sugar. Makes about 3 dozen.
