Making this is so worth while, it is easy to make, tastes super, and makes a good gift. The minister of our church got it from a friend, and she shared this recipe with me. I have made it many times. It keeps well in a tight plastic container, and it makes 3 pounds total. I use it on top of Greek Style Yogurt, or eat just a handful as a snack. I also have tossed a little into my pancake batter or muffin batter.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 box
old-fashioned rolled oats; 6 cups
1 c
wheat germ
1 c
coconut
1 c
chopped nuts (i love pecans)
1 c
packed light brown sugar

MIX ALL ABOVE TOGETHER.

1/2 c
oil
1/2 c
water
1 1/2 Tbsp
vanilla extract
1/2 Tbsp
salt

MIX THESE FOUR INGREDIENTS, POUR SLOWLY OVER FIRST MIXTURE.

1 c
whole wheat flour

MIX WELL AND ADD THE FLOUR.

1 c
*optional: raisins or dates or other chopped dried fruit.

How to Make Granola with Blessings, from a dear friend

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. You will need two large baking sheets with low sides (jelly roll pans)
    spread the mixture out evenly.
  • 2Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally;until light brown.
  • 3Cool completely, then pack in air-tight containers.
  • 4There are dried fruits you could add, any kind of nuts would be good. I LOVE THIS RECIPE!
