fresh & chunky guacamole

This is my take on a recipe from Ina Garten (The Barefoot Contessa). You can whip this up in under 5 minutes...great for a quick but delicious addition to your snack repertoire!

Ingredients

  • 4 - ripe haas avocados,
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 8 dashes tobasco sauce
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced finely
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 - small tomato, seeded and diced finely
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 - serrano chile pepper, finely minced

How To Make fresh & chunky guacamole

  • Step 1
    Cut avocados in half, remove pit and scoop flesh into a large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Add lemon juice, tobasco sauce, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir until all ingredients are combined well. (If you are including the optional ingredients I listed, now is the time to incorporate them.)
  • Step 3
    Using a large, sharp knife, slice through avocado mixture until the mixture is medium-sized chunks. Sprinkle in diced tomato and stir through. Serve.
