Yes, another yummy fried veggy!
I fix this mostly when we are just having a veggy meal. My hubby loves it and if you've never tried, you are sure missing OUT!

  • ·
    canolia oil, enoug for skillet
  • 1
    onion cut in strips
  • dash(es)
    salt / pepper
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    bacon chips

How to Make What? Fried Turnips ?

  1. Peel turnips and cut long ways.
  2. In skillet over medium heat, add oil and let warm.
  3. Peel onion, we like sweet onions best.
Slice then pull slices a part where they are also in strips.
  4. In skillet, add onions and let start to tenderize, before adding turnips.
    Sprinkle with S & P.
  5. Just as you would fry tatters, turn occassionally, so does not stick together.
  6. Add Bacon chips and put a lid on, then let cook until good and tender, but not burnt ot too brown.
  7. These are good with Pork Chops, or just a Veggy night.
On Veggy night, we have fried Turnips, buttered Carrots, Scallop corn and fresh sliced tomatoes. I serve this with garlic bread sticks. Ummmm, Yum!
