What could be better to serve your guests...but a healthy vegetable appetizer??? I am sure if you have never tried hummus..you are sure to love this dish..you might want to make a 2 dishes. Keep one in the refrigerator for later. Another great recipe and picture from Publications International LTD. I have saved these great recipes...since 1998/9 !!! Enjoy...Nancy... 7/2/12

Ingredients

  • 1 can ( about 15 oz.)..chick-peas, rinsed, and drained
  • 2 tablespoons tahini...please no substutes!.. it is a must with this recipe!
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3/4 tablespoon salt
  • 1 - fresh tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • - pita bread wedges or assorted crackers

How To Make .vegatable-topped hummus..appetizer

  • Step 1
    1....Place chick peas, tahini,lemon juice and salt in a chopper or blender, process till smooth. Set aside. 2....Combine tomato, onions,and parsley in a small bowl. Place reserved bean mixture in a medium serving bowl. Spoon tomato mixture evenly over top. Serve with crackers or pita bread wedges.
