vegan lentil burgers

These are a favorite of my husband served on home made wheat rolls. They have the texture of a crab cake. soft and moist.

Ingredients

  • 1 can progreso lentil soup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, diced
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup rolled oat, finely ground
  • 3/4 cup italian breadcrumbs

How To Make vegan lentil burgers

  • Step 1
    Fry the onions, carrot, and garlic in the oil until soft, it will take about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add Lentil soup and Heat thru.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl mix the cooked ingredients with the pepper, soy sauce, oats and bread crumbs.
  • Step 4
    While still warm, form the lentil mixture into patties, which can now be frozen, refrigerated (for up to 5 days), or cooked immediately.
  • Step 5
    Burgers can then be shallow fried for 1-2 minutes on each side or baked at 400F. for 15 minutes.
