A elderly cousin use to make this with tomatoes she canned from her summer garden. It was always a favorite of mine. I use canned tomatoes from the grocery store, but it still comes out really good.

Ingredients For tomato casserole

2 cbread, cubed

1/2 cbutter, melted

1/3 cbrown sugar (may adjust to 1/2 cup depending on sweetness of tomatoes)

1/2 cwater
-
1/2 tspsalt

10 ozcan whole tomatoes

1 Tbspcinnamon
How To Make tomato casserole

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2Boil tomatoes, water, sugar and salt for 5 minutes. Butter casserole dish and layer bread cubes in bottom. Pour boiled mixture over bread. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

3Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.
