Ingredients

  • 1 - 9-inch frozen ready-to-bake pie shell, thawed (or 1 bottom pie crust from scratch)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 medium sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika

How To Make tasty onion tart

  • Step 1
    Bake the pie shell in a preheated 350-degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until light golden; set aside.
  • Step 2
    Melt the butter in a medium skillet over high heat. Add the onions, saute 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and saute 2 to 4 more minutes, or until tender. Place onions in the pie shell.
  • Step 3
    In a medium bowl, mix together the eggs, sour cream, dry mustard, salt and pepper. Pour mixture over onions. Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes, or until sides and crust are golden and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    Cut into wedges and serve with a green salad and a fruit dish.
