This is my version of my mom's tomatoes. SHe grew tomatoes every year and this was my favorite way to eat them.

Ingredients

4 large
tomatoes
1/8 tsp
pepper
1 tsp
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
butter

How to Make Stewed Tomatoes

Step-by-Step

  • 1Peel tomatoes and cut them into chunks.
  • 2In a saucepan, heat tomatoes, stirring constantly, until the juice comes out.About 10 minutes.
  • 3Cook over low heat until desired consistency is reached.
  • 4Add salt, pepper, butter and sugar.
  • 5You can add breadcrumbs to the top if you like. And can substitute 6 small tomatoes for the large.
