This is my version of my mom's tomatoes. SHe grew tomatoes every year and this was my favorite way to eat them.

Ingredients
- 4 large tomatoes
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
How To Make stewed tomatoes

Step 1Peel tomatoes and cut them into chunks.

Step 2In a saucepan, heat tomatoes, stirring constantly, until the juice comes out.About 10 minutes.

Step 3Cook over low heat until desired consistency is reached.

Step 4Add salt, pepper, butter and sugar.

Step 5You can add breadcrumbs to the top if you like. And can substitute 6 small tomatoes for the large.
